You Are Responsible
Written and transcribed by Terry Grant

This is a continuation of a message I have transcribed and edited from a talk Ishvara gave on September 4, 2005. - TG.

Ishvara:

It is nice to feel OK. It is nice to embrace love. I recently watched a beautiful little video about love: children hugging each other, people holding hands. "Love is the answer, love is the way," the video said. Yet that is nonsense! People have been saying that for a long time; it is hollow and empty. Every one of you has experienced the downside of love. You can't deny it. Love is great when you get what you want, but when you cease getting what you want, love turns into hate, or regret.

Love is not the answer. The answer is action, presence, realness, acceptance of what-is, fearlessness, embracing Life-as-it-is, and allowing the energy of Life to move you in a direction that is harmonious. You have a choice: you can continue to create and participate in chaos, or you can turn around and face Life as-it-is, face the consequences of your past existence, embrace the moment, and seek ways of connection and harmony. That is the ultimate of getting over yourself.

You've heard the saying, "life is hard." Life is hard when you live in separation. Life is impossible when you live with a myth. Of course, science is not perfect. There are many unknowns, but, at least, most scientists will acknowledge the unknown. Religious and spiritual disciplines, on the other hand, have beliefs which purport to define existence: "This is the way it is, this is the way it works. God said!" If I were a believer in the myth, I would be quite upset and angry right now. How is it possible that a loving "God" could create such a mess? I know the excuse: "It is humans who have done it." Well, your myth says that God created such humans. Why would "God" create something flawed? I know, the intellect has an argument to counter that, too. I don't care. I'm telling you what's what. It is up to you to take the initiative. You cannot prove any part of your myth.

Just because you believe in something, does not make it true. When you understand how energy works, you may know why things are so, and why supposed "miracles" take place. I have seen it over and over: the brain is the great healer. When, in your brain, you get to the place where you can accept that something can be different (I call that place "feeling-knowing"), it becomes different. It changes. "God" doesn't change it; the myth doesn't change it, the beliefs don't change it. Instead, you come to a place where you know something can be so, and then it is so. When you have the courage to act on that knowing, something begins to happen. When you are not attached to results--when you realize that Life is bigger than you--extraordinary things can take place. Life is a synergy of all things, of connections everywhere, and nothing is excluded.

Once you let go of the myth of creation, once you let go of the need for fairy tales and stories, once you are willing to face the actuality of Life, the direct experience, you will begin to experience feeling-knowing. Then you will begin to know what I know, to see what I see, what I've seen for a long time. It is no secret. I know the source of Life for this planet; it is no divine intervention, it is a very human happening. If you dare look, you will see. If you continue to hold to the myth, if you continue to foster separation, remain stuck in beliefs, you will continue to suffer.

No amount of faith will cure what ails humanity. No amount of believing or hoping or wishing or wanting will make a difference. The only thing that works is direct knowledge of Life itself, of energy, of how it works, and that is not a mystery. It is so obvious if you just watch, if you pay attention to the moment, if you stay connected.

The plants can tell you how energy works. No, I am not a "nature lover." Nature is chaos; nature is cruel. I see it around me all the time. People say, "We should be more like nature." Unfortunately, nature is like us. The human is at the top of the pyramid, the peak of existence, and everything else flows down into the rest of Life. The earth reflects the chaos that is present in human existence in separation. A hurricane is a consequence of erratic thinking, of fear, of destruction. The earth responds to the energies at hand.

I'm surprised the destruction didn't take place sooner than this. It could have taken place immediately: the moment bombs were dropped in Iraq, there could have been a hurricane in America. People would more easily have made the connection, and realized that the earth balances the energy. When it is too far apart, people forget. They don't see the correlation.

It is wake-up time. Connect the dots. Your survival is at stake. It is your opportunity to become a planetary citizen, not an American or Iraqi or Iranian or Russian or Chinese. Those are mind labels, labels of separation. People pride themselves on being "Liberal" or "Green." That doesn't mean anything. Those are just more labels. They are excuses. "I'm a Christian." That's an excuse. "I'm a Hindu." That's an excuse.

You are a planetary citizen and you have a responsibility to take care of the world, to take care of all of humanity. Furthermore, you have a responsibility to take care of nature. You are responsible for the chaos in nature, because of the separation that exists in your own mind, separation that is fortified by myth, religions, spiritual disciplines, and New Age movements--all of it. It is all trash. I know you may not want to hear that, but you need to hear it.

We continually get letters or emails from individuals who try to repeat or summarize what I have said, and I often wonder, "Did they hear what I said?" They speak of the "divine," or the "numinous," or "God." I didn't say that. I said YOU are it. You are responsible. You are the Life Force, the energy of Life. You are part of a great synergy of Life. You create the purpose of your existence. It is not created by an outside force, or an ideal, or a belief, or a religion, or a concept. There is no destiny.

This message is part 3 of 4 parts and will conclude with, "Come Out Of Hypnosis," part 4 of 4. It beagn with "The loss of innocence," part 1 of 4; and was continued with "You Are Far More Capable," part 2 of 4.
